M&S Logistics Park 300KW Micro-grid energy storage project

Project Name: M&S Logistics Park 300KW Micro-grid energy storage project in PeterBorough city, UK

Subject: As one of UK’s leading retailers, M&S has more than 1,382 stores around the world. System solution: The micro-grid energy storage project’s PV (photovoltaic) is 1MW and was finished installation by another company (its PV inverter is from DELTA). The 150KW PCS (power control system) was provided by Shenzhen Sheng Hong Company. Sacred Sun was only responsible for the energy storage part of the Micro-grid energy storage project. The energy storage system contains 2 containers and each container was composed of 288 pcs FCP-1000 lead carbon batteries, two group batteries in two containers were connected in parallel. Each container was equipped with air conditioning and ventilation equipment.

Application scenarios: Since all large PV power plants, wind power plants, nuclear power plants were running direct on-grid during the day (10 am to 5 pm); such logistics park small PV site is not able to connect to the grid limited by technology in UK. In view of this, the small energy storage PV system has to storage the electricity generated by itself for personal using or sell to the state grid at night (5 pm to 11 pm).
